Two middle schoolers from Delaware County will soon be teeing off on one of youth golf’s biggest stages. Shanahan Middle School’s Micaiah L. and Hyatts Middle School’s Kengo Imai helped their Ohio PGA Jr. League team secure a spot among just 12 teams in the country competing at the PGA Jr. League National Championship in Texas this November.

From Regional Play to the National Spotlight

The Ohio squad clinched its place after topping a highly competitive regional championship last weekend. Facing teams from four different states, the group emerged at the top of the leaderboard, proving themselves among the best in the Midwest. That win earned them the chance to represent Ohio at the national level.

Championship in Texas

The PGA Jr. League National Championship, 13u Division, will be played November 16–20 at Fields Ranch West in Frisco, Texas. Leading up to and during the tournament, fans can tune in to televised coverage between November 15–20, giving a national audience a chance to follow the matches.

Local Pride on the Course

For Central Ohio, the success of Micaiah and Kengo brings youth golf in the region into the spotlight. Their teamwork and skill highlight the talent being developed in Delaware County and underscore how local athletes are competing at the highest levels of their sport.

As they prepare for Texas, the pair will carry not only their clubs but also the support of their schools and community. When the championship begins in November, they’ll have the chance to showcase their abilities in front of fans across the country.
