Kindergarten Information Nights: Mark Your Calendars!

Parents and guardians are invited to attend the Kindergarten Information Night on Tuesday, April 9, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at their respective elementary schools. This event is a golden opportunity to gain insights into the kindergarten curriculum, meet the educators, and understand the enriching environment that Delaware City Schools offer. A Spanish version of the event ensures inclusivity for all community members.

Registration for the kindergarten program is now open. It’s crucial to note that children eligible for the program must be five years old on or before August 1 and reside within the Delaware City School District. The registration process begins online through the district’s website, followed by a visit to the Willis Education Center with necessary documentation. The registration hours are from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Early registration is recommended to secure a summer screening appointment for your child. The list of required documents and complete registration procedures are available on the website.

Comprehensive Curriculum for Holistic Development

The kindergarten program at Delaware City Schools is uniquely designed to cater to the needs of young learners. Unlike neighboring districts, the full-time, daily schedule ensures a deep and immersive learning experience. The curriculum includes a balanced mix of structured literacy, math, and related arts programs, emphasizing both academic skills and personal growth.

Focus on Health and Well-being

The health and well-being of students are paramount. The district’s nursing staff provides comprehensive health services, ensuring that every child’s health needs are met. Parents are encouraged to actively collaborate with the school nurses for the best care of their children.

Delaware City Schools’ kindergarten program is a gateway to a world of learning and personal growth. With its holistic approach and dedicated staff, the program is an ideal starting point for the educational journey of young learners.
