The Olentangy Local School District has once again proven its commitment to educational excellence, as evidenced by the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

All four of the district’s high schools have secured spots within the top seven among central Ohio schools. Olentangy Liberty High School made a significant leap, moving from sixth to second place in the rankings. Meanwhile, Olentangy High School maintained its fourth-place position, Olentangy Orange High School ranked seventh, and Olentangy Berlin High School made its debut at sixth place in central Ohio.

Dr. Michelle Blackley, the District’s Chief Academic Officer, expressed the district’s pride in the achievements. “We take great pride in the vast opportunities available to our students, the personal achievements of both our students and our staff, and our focus on educational excellence,” she said.

The Metrics Behind the Success

The U.S. News & World Report rankings are not just numbers; they are a reflection of the district’s holistic approach to education. The rankings take into account a variety of weighted factors, including college readiness, reading and math proficiency, performance of underserved students, breadth of college curriculum, and graduation rates. Superintendent Todd R. Meyer emphasized that the district’s success is a long-term effort, stating, “This work begins at the elementary level and continues through middle school, attributing to student success at all four of our high schools.”

Olentangy Schools Among the Elite

The district’s high schools have also been consistently ranked among the top 25 high schools in Ohio. Olentangy Liberty High School now ranks ninth in the state, a significant improvement from its 23rd position in 2022. Olentangy High School moved up to 13th, followed by Olentangy Berlin High School at 21st and Olentangy Orange High School at 22nd.

On a national scale, the schools have shown remarkable progress. Olentangy Liberty High School now ranks at 333, a significant jump from its 626th position in 2022. Olentangy High School is at 392, Olentangy Berlin High School at 570, and Olentangy Orange High School at 601 among nearly 18,000 high schools reviewed nationwide.

Excellence Extends to Middle and Elementary Schools

The district’s commitment to quality education is not limited to high schools. This year, all eligible Olentangy middle and elementary schools received top marks, with the district’s five eligible middle schools ranked in the top 100 in the state. This comprehensive focus on educational quality at all levels ensures that Olentangy students are well-prepared for academic success from their earliest years.

In summary, the Olentangy Local School District’s high rankings in both state and national assessments affirm its dedication to providing a top-tier education for its students. These rankings serve as a testament to the hard work and commitment of teachers, administrators, and students alike. As the district continues to focus on educational excellence, the community can expect even greater achievements in the years to come.
