Summer is nearly here, and with it comes the exciting opportunity for children in Westerville to learn the sport of tennis through the Beginner Tennis Program. Hosted by the Midwest Youth Team Tennis, the initiative is perfect for young enthusiasts looking to dive into a summer of swings, serves, and smiles.

Program Overview

Scheduled from Monday, June 24, to Thursday, June 27, with a rain date on Friday, June 28, the program welcomes young athletes to the tennis courts at Westerville Central High School. This initiative, supported by USTA Midwest, promises not just to teach the basics of the game but also to instill essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Session Details

The program offers sessions for various age groups:

  • Grades 1-2: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
  • Grades 3-6: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Each session is designed to accommodate the physical capabilities and learning speeds of different age groups, ensuring a tailored and effective teaching environment. At a cost of $75 per participant, the fee includes a program t-shirt, an age-appropriate tennis racquet, and a special player gift, making it a valuable investment in a child’s physical and social development.

Registration Information

Interest in the program is high and space is limited, making early registration a must. Registrations will close on June 2 and no refunds will be available. Parents can register their children by scanning the QR code provided on the program flyers or by visiting the official website at midwestteamtennis.com. For additional inquiries, Tara Hayes can be contacted via email at Westervilletennis24@gmail.com.
