The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association is proud to welcome Roger Huston, “The Voice of Harness Racing” as a Brand Ambassador.

Huston will help promote harness racing in the state of Ohio and assist with promotional activities for the Association.

Huston has called over 188,000r aces throughout his career in at least 20 states and eight countries, and was inducted as a member of the United States Harness Writer’s Association Communicators Hall of Fame in 2000 and received its Proximity Award in 2011.

The Keystone Chapter of the USHWA inducted Huston into their Hall of Fame in 2013 and he is also a member of the Little Brown Jug Wall of Fame, the Washington-Greene County Hall of Fame, Allegheny County Hall of Fame and the New York, and the Florida USHWA Hall of Fame.

Huston began his career in 1960 calling harness races at Ohio county fairs.  He is well known locally as the voice of the Little Brown Jug in Delaware. Most recently Huston served as the track announcer at the Meadows in Washington, Pennsylvania and host of the Meadows Racing television show.

“Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye. I am looking forward to returning to where it all began, the Buckeye state,” said Huston.“ I want to be able to give back to Ohio what Ohio has given me in my 60-year career. This is a great opportunity for me to work with a great organization, to be up close with the fans, and to spread my passion for harness racing.”

“The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association is honored to have Roger Huston join our team” said OHAA President Steve Bateson. “I look forward to Hall of Fame member Roger Huston making a difference in Ohio.  Once a Buckeye always a Buckeye.”

The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association (OHHA) is a non-profit organization serving Standard bred horse owners, breeders, trainers, drivers and fans who participate in the sport of harness racing in the Buckeye State.
