For those with dreams of soaring baseballs, deafening cheers, and moments of glory on the diamond, the Ohio Thunder is your place to excel. The baseball organization based in Powell is holding tryouts for the 2024 season on July 10, with a rain date of July 11.

The Thunder has a goal of being more than just a sports team. It’s a family that values player development, competition, and the sheer joy of playing baseball. With access to state-of-the-art indoor training facilities, premier fields, and a team of experienced coaches, players are offered an environment that fosters growth and prepares them for competition at higher levels.

This year, as always, the Ohio Thunder aims to field multiple competitive teams across a range of age groups from 7U to 13U, and beyond. Every player is guaranteed a rewarding Thunder experience, allowing them to reach their fullest potential in the sport they love.

Tryout Details

All tryouts will take place at the Olentangy Liberty High School baseball complex. The schedule is as follows:

7U – 11U: July 10, 5:30PM – 7:30PM
12U – 13U: July 10, 7:00PM – 9:00PM
Rain date for 8-13U: July 11, 6:00PM – 9:00PM
14U: July 11, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
15U-16U: To Be Determined

Online registration can be accomplished here.

Remember to arrive approximately 30 minutes early for check-in. Pre-registration is required, and there is no tryout fee. Please note that while the registration process shows a “checkout” button, no payment will be required.

When attending tryouts at the Olentangy Liberty H.S., bring tennis shoes or turfs, and plastic cleats. Please refrain from bringing metal cleats, sunflower seeds, or gum. Also note, no cleats are allowed inside the indoor hitting facility.

Can’t Make the Tryouts?

If you are unable to attend the scheduled tryouts, worry not. Please contact the lead coach for your age group to discuss an alternative date. The coach contact information can be found here.
