The City’s oldest running event has a new look in 2019.

The Dave Staley Aquathlon and Youth Splash-n-Dash Aquathlon is Sunday, August 10 at Mingo Park, 500 East Lincoln Avenue. Both events are similar to the former Staley triathlon, but without the cycling leg.

The aquathlon is designed to be a fun event for all individuals regardless of their fitness and experience level. There are several distance options:

  • Adult (16 and older): 400m pool swim + 3.1-mile run
  • Youth (Age 6-10): 100m swim+ 1-mile run
  • Youth (Age 11-15): 200m swim+1-mile run

Staley, the event namesake and retired Ohio Wesleyan University math professor, competed nationally and internationally in triathlons and running events, including in the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii in 1986.  Registration is at greenswell.com.
