The Westerville Division of Police has announced departmental recognitions and awards for 2020.
Sergeant Dan Betts has been named WPD’s Officer of the Year for 2020. Sgt. Betts also received two Lifesaving Awards.
Officer and Civilian of the Year | Awarded to individuals who have demonstrated excellent performance, productivity, responsibility, loyalty and honesty in fulfilling the Division’s mission statement in order to serve the public with the highest possible standards of service. They are nominated and chosen by their peers.

Exceptional Duty Award | Awarded to a sworn officer for the performance of an act under conditions where bravery of other outstanding performance of duty occurred.
