The Westerville Division of Police and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are reminding residents to “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “If You Feel Different, You Drive Different- Drive High, Get a DUI.” The national campaigns center around educating the public about the risks and severe consequences of driving while impaired.
According to the NHTSA, even one alcoholic beverage can impair reasoning and muscle coordination. That means just one drink can impair your ability to safely drive.

.10 | The ability to brake and stay within a lane becomes impaired. |
.15 | Impairs visual and auditory processing. Substantially impacts ability to control a vehicle and may attention to driving. |
Remember to always arrange for a sober ride home. If you do become impaired, consider utilizing an on-demand ride service. Report impaired and unsafe driving to 9-1-1, for the safety of all.
