Now that Delaware County has experienced its first solid dose of winter, and a true White Christmas, the weather rollercoaster is about to take another turn.
Over the last 24 hours, snowfall totals reported to the National Weather Service have included the following amounts (in inches):
- SE of Delaware, off of Curve Road — 3.5
- State Route 257, just south of US 36 — 3
- Powell, off of Beech Ridge Road — 3.5
- State Route 37, near Ross Road — 4.3
A band of light snow will move south through the area through early this evening. Gusty winds will result in blowing snow and quick reductions in visibility. Although additional accumulations will be light in nature, generally one half of an inch or less, roads may again become snow-covered.
Exercise caution if traveling through early this evening. Quick reductions in visibility are expected with the snow activity.
Somewhat warmer temperatures will return, however; Sunday’s high is currently predicted to be 44 degrees. Next week, expect highs in the 30s to low 40s and lows in the 20s and 30s.
