Get ready for a summer full of exploration at Preservation Parks of Delaware County.

Registration for the Summer Letterbox Adventure begins May 27 and you can start your adventure Saturday, May 29.

There are changes to the program this year. Preservation Parks staff has worked diligently over the last several months to make this year’s adventure fun and safe for everyone. This includes making touchless letterbox locations, which have been replaced by hidden animal plaques.Registration is 100% online through RecDesk, and can be accomplished here. Create a free account by setting up everyone in your household who will be participating. Click on ‘Programs’ to register for the Summer Letterbox program.

This is a free program. There is no registration at the libraries this summer, but you may use a library computer to set up an account and register. Ask a librarian for assistance to use a computer.

If you have questions about this process, please email contactparks@preservationparks.com or call 740-524-8600 x103. You are encouraged to opt-in to text messages to receive updates on possible park closures and other program updates. (For example, with a heavy rain event, Blues Creek often closes for a day or two due to flooding).

You will have access to the Letterbox booklet PDF during the registration process and also after you are done registering by going into your RecDesk profile. Carry a pen or pencil to write down the animals you find at each park. Once you have tracked the animals at four parks, claim your prize, while supplies last, at the Ashley Wornstaff Memorial Library, Community Library (Sunbury), Delaware Main Library and branches at Orange, Ostrander and Powell.

Show your animal tracker form at the library’s prize desk, beginning Friday, June 18.

There is no letterbox this year at Char-Mar Ridge Park due to a spring/summer parking lot expansion project.

Parent Tip: Read each set of park clues before heading out to the park so you can be prepared! Some parks have limited hours, may not be stroller friendly or allow dogs on trails. Visit the Parks & Trails page for location and directions to each park.
