It has been three weeks since was have reviewed current COVID-19 vaccination numbers as released by the Ohio Department of Health.

We have been regularly updating our readers over the last few months with the latest statistics related to how many Delaware Countians are being vaccinated, and how those figures compare to contiguous counties.

With the releasing of most health and safety guidelines, the pandemic may not be in the news as much as it has been, but COVID-19 is still real and still poses a health risk to Ohioans. With that in mind, we thought that we would check in with the Department of Health to verify where the effort to vaccinate stands locally.

First, for the State of Ohio as a whole, these are the current numbers for Wednesday, June 23:

  • Initial vaccinations, statewide, last 24 hours — 8,746
  • Percentage of Ohioans with at least one vaccination — 47.29%
  • Leading age group, percentage-wise — 70 to 74 — 84.11%
  • Completed vaccinations, statewide, last 24 hours — 12,798
  • Percentage of Ohioans with completed vaccinations — 43.47%
  • Leading age group, percentage-wise — 70 to 74 — 80.36%

Turning to Delaware County:

  • Percentage with at least one vaccination — 61.48%
  • Percentage with completed vaccinations — 57.36%

These percentages remain the strongest in the state.

Contiguous counties (first number is at least one vaccination, second is completed vaccinations):

  • FRANKLIN 50.77%, 46.89%
  • KNOX 34.99%, 32.76%
  • LICKING 44.09%, 41.28%
  • MARION 38.94%, 36.15%
  • MORROW 33.60% 31.45%
  • UNION 50.19% 47.12%
