The number and variety of eateries in downtown Delaware continues is continuing to grow, as a current culinary entrepreneur is opening a new venture celebrating the best of Italian cuisine.
The Delaware Economic Development and Entrepreneur Center announced recently that local restaurateur T.J. Wellman will be launching Tony’s Italian Bistro at 48 North Sandusky Street.
According to the announcement, “T.J. and his business partner already own two restaurants in downtown Delaware – the The Flying Pig Alehouse, 12 S. Sandusky St., and the Typhoon Asian Fusion Bistro, 10 N. Sandusky St. Tony’s is the latest restaurant in their effort to bring quality dining to town.”
According to Destination Delaware County, “Tony’s will seat about 48 diners will have a full bar featuring seasonal wines ranging in price from $7-$150 a bottle. “If you want wine, we’ll have a little something for everyone,” T.J. said. While the menu is still under development, T.J. said it will feature homemade sauces, antipasto, and seven different varieties of noodles. It will range from chicken parmesan to Italian subs.”

Posted menus there include a “create your own pasta” offering where guests can pick their own meat, sauce, cheese, and noodles. Main course selections include Chicken Parmesan, Spinach Ricotta Lasagna, Tony’s Lasaagna, Eggplant Parmesan, Lemon Garlic Shrimp, Chicken Carbonara, and Cajun Chicken Pasta.
