The Columbus region is now home to a handful of pickleball-focused sports centers, each with either indoor or outdoor courts (or both), and most either currently or soon to offer food, drinks, and/or other amenities. One of those centers is in Delaware County, and another is coming next year.

As described by Wikipedia, “Pickleball is an indoor or outdoor racket/paddle sport where two players (singles), or four players (doubles), hit a perforated hollow polymer ball over a 36-inch-high (0.91 m) net using solid faced paddles. The two sides hit the ball back and forth over the net until one side commits a rule infraction.”

The Pickle Shack is at 3218 US 42, south of Delaware, and has been open since early this summer. The center offers a Pro Shop with pickleball equipment and wearing apparel. Earlier this month it was the site for The Ohio Rumble Cup, which featured top-notch pickleball players from Columbus and Cleveland in friendly competition.

The Pickle Shack Facebook Page can be accessed here.

Next year, the Real Dill Pickleball Club is opening near IKEA and Topgolf. This location will join an under construction facility in St. Louis, Missouri. More information, including artist representations and a set of frequently asked questions, can be found here.
