The opportunity for all scarlet and gray hearted Buckeye football fans to indulge in the history of the remarkable tradition that is Ohio State football continues through February 24.
2022 marked the 100th anniversary of Ohio Stadium, a place affectionately known as “the ‘Shoe.” To celebrate that milestone, The Ohio State University has been showcasing that history in an exhibit on display in the Thompson Library.
The Thompson Library, of course, is the main university library that sits at the top of the Oval in the heart of campus.
A Walk in Our ‘Shoe: 100 Years of Ohio Stadium celebrates that remarkable tradition. It is free and open to the public through February 26 of next year, presented by University Libraries. In addition to other items on display, there you can view:
- Football uniforms and gear from the 1920s and 1930s
- Goal post piece from the 1955 Rose Bowl
- Dedication game day program from 1922
- Woody Hayes’ football playbook
- Jim Tressel’s play calling sheets
- Lego Ohio Stadium constructed by Professor Paul Janssen (Physiology and Cell Biology)
The exhibit is open from 10 AM to 6 PM each day, and 12 PM to 6 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
