A magical happening will begin this April, not in an enchanted castle, but instead in a very accessible southern Delaware County venue.

118,800 frames of video. 593,400 cubic feet of projections. Disney Animation: Immersive Experience is an innovative celebration that provides an opportunity to step inside the magical world of Walt Disney Animation Studios. It features groundbreaking features from their earliest films to their latest beloved hits.

Visitors can immerse themselves in scenes from their favorite films, such as Encanto, The Lion King, Zootopia, Aladdin, and many more. The experience will be hosted in ten cities across the USA and Canada, showcasing favorite songs, scenes, and characters, as well as fun surprises. The Delaware County stop is the final one on that tour.

The experience is divided into an exhibit and a show, all taking place in a warehouse environment that features projection technology, providing visitors with wide open spaces. Tickets can be purchased online, and visitors can sign up for a timed entry, arriving 20 to 30 minutes before the scheduled entry time is recommended.

The experience also includes an educational component where visitors can take a self-guided tour of interactive displays that demonstrate how animation has evolved from pencil sketches and storyboards into full-color, multi-plane animation cells.

The entire experience lasts about two hours, with the show itself taking about 45 minutes to complete.

The fun begins at Lighthouse Artspace, 940 Polaris Parkway, from April 6 through June 18. More information and online ticketing is available here.
