In a heartwarming display of community solidarity, Delaware County agencies have united to hold a Thanksgiving Meal Kit Giveaway, promising to add a sprinkle of joy and generosity to the holiday season. Scheduled for November 21, this event exemplifies the true spirit of Thanksgiving – sharing and caring for those in need.

The giveaway kicks off at 2:00 PM, operating on the principle of first come, first serve. It’s a race against time as the event closes when supplies deplete or at 6:00 PM, whichever is sooner. The new venue for this community gathering is the Delaware County Fairgrounds, a central location that promises easy access for all.

In an attempt to ensure fair distribution, the organizers have set a limit of one meal kit per household, with each kit generously designed to feed up to six adults. To streamline the process and maintain accountability, an adult representative from each household must be present in the vehicle to receive their kit.

The giveaway is a result of collaborative efforts by Delaware County community partners and schools. These groups have banded together to assemble a complete Thanksgiving meal for residents who have registered for assistance. This initiative not only addresses hunger but also fosters a sense of togetherness within the community.

Those who have registered through the schools’ survey should keep an eye on their email for specific instructions on the pick-up process. Communication will be sent from [email protected], making it easy for recipients to receive updates and details.

This Thanksgiving, Delaware County is not just passing out meal kits; it’s sharing a message of unity and hope. By taking part in the “Fight Against Hunger Games”, residents are contributing to a cause that goes beyond the dinner table, nurturing the community spirit that forms the bedrock of the county.
