1808Delaware provides regular weekend reports on road project work being conducted under the auspices of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) in the area.
Such work is, of course, weather dependent. This past week, ODOT District 6 shared announcements of current and upcoming work in Delaware and Franklin Counties.
DELAWARE
U.S. Route 36/State Route 37
CONTINUING IMPACTS
- North Galena Rd. at U.S. 36/SR 37 will close starting Tuesday, March 5th for 100 days for intersection improvements.
- Detour: Wilson Rd. to U.S. 36/SR 37
- U.S. 36/SR 37 at I-71: Starting March 4 there will be a new traffic pattern in place on U.S. 36/SR 37 at the I-71 interchange for reconstruction of the bridge over I-71.
- Left turns from U.S. 36/SR 37 to the I-71 on-ramps are restricted
- Temporary RCUT lanes will be in use at Wilson Road and in front of McDonald’s for U.S. 36 traffic seeking access to the I-71 on-ramps
- U.S. 36 Westbound will be reduced to two lanes
- U.S. 36 Eastbound will be reduced to one lane
- Turning movements for traffic on the I-71 off-ramps will be maintained
- U.S. 36/SR 37 is reduced to one lane in each direction between the railroad bridge and Sky View Lane/Glenview Commons. Eastbound traffic will be shifted north, with both directions of traffic maintained in the existing westbound lanes. This traffic pattern will remain in place through Spring 2024.
- Access to driveways and property will be maintained, however left turns will be restricted for driveways as well as Bowtown Road traffic during peak travel times (7 AM – 9 AM, 4 PM – 6 PM). Left turns at SR 521 will be maintained throughout the phase.
FRANKLIN
State Route 161
NEW IMPACTS
- The SR 161 eastbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close overnight (7 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Saturday, March 23
- Detour: SR 161 eastbound to I-270 southbound to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 northbound.
- The SR 161 westbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Saturday, March 23.
- Detour: SR 161 westbound to I-270 southbound to Hamilton Rd. to I-270 northbound.
- The Hamilton Rd. ramp to SR 161 westbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Sunday, March 24.
- Detour: SR 161 eastbound to New Albany Rd. to SR 161 westbound.
Interstate 270
NEW IMPACTS
- The I-270 westbound ramp to SR 3 will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Monday, March 25 and Tuesday, March 26.
- Detour: I-270 westbound to Cleveland Ave. to I-270 eastbound to SR 3.
- The Sunbury Rd. ramp to I-270 northbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Saturday, March 23.
- Detour: SR 161 eastbound to Little Turtle Way northbound to I-270.
- The I-270 westbound ramp to SR 3 will close overnight (9 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Saturday, March 23.
- Detour: I-270 westbound to Cleveland Ave. to I-270 eastbound to SR 3.
U.S. Route 62
NEW IMPACTS
- U.S. 62/Johnstown Rd. in both directions at SR 161 will close overnight (11 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Friday, March 22.
- Detour: SR 161 westbound to New Albany Rd. to SR 161 eastbound to U.S. 62/Johnstown Rd. OR SR 161 eastbound to Beech Rd. to SR 161 westbound to U.S. 62/Johnstown Rd.
- U.S. 62/Johnstown Rd. northbound at SR 161 will close overnight (11 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Saturday, March 23.
- Detour: SR 161 eastbound to Beech Rd. to SR 161 westbound to U.S. 62/Johnstown Rd.
