Olentangy Local Schools have reason to celebrate as their high school students earn significant nominations at this year’s CAPA Marquee Awards, to be held at the Ohio Theater on June 6. These nominations spotlight the exceptional talent and hard work of students across several high schools within the district.
Diverse Nominations Across Schools
The students from Olentangy Liberty, Olentangy Orange, and Olentangy High Schools have shown outstanding skills in various aspects of theater production, earning them nominations in both performance and technical categories:
Behind the Scenes
- Olentangy Liberty High School: Nominated for backstage excellence with their stage crew in “Anything Goes.”
- Olentangy Orange High School: Lighting crew nominated for their technical expertise in “Sister Act.”
On Stage Excellence
- Outstanding Technical Execution: Elena A. from Olentangy High School for her role as stage manager in “Catch Me If You Can.”
- Best Supporting Actor: Johnny R. from Olentangy High School for his performance as Roger Strong in “Catch Me If You Can.”
- Outstanding Dance and Ensemble: The team from “Catch Me If You Can” at Olentangy High School demonstrated exceptional choreography and team coordination.
Leading Roles
- Best Actress in a Leading Role: Nominations were given to Caira F. from Olentangy Orange High School for her portrayal of Deloris Van Cartier in “Sister Act” and to Kayla A. from Olentangy Berlin High School for her role as Rusty in “Footloose.”
- Best Actor in a Leading Role: Andy N. from Olentangy High School for his depiction of Frank Abagnale, Jr. in “Catch Me If You Can.”
