The Delaware County Foundation is now accepting proposals for the Community Grants Program, offering crucial funding to nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of Delaware County residents. Eligible organizations include:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofits: Must not be classified as private foundations under section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Governmental or publicly-funded entities.
- Organizations with a qualified, tax-exempt fiscal sponsor.
Grants are not awarded to individuals. All projects must align with the Foundation’s funding priorities, with preference given to those addressing recovery, housing, mental health, basic needs, ESL, and workforce development.
Areas of Funding 📚
The Foundation is committed to a broad spectrum of community enhancement categories, including:
- Animal Welfare: Projects promoting animal care and the benefits animals bring to our lives.
- Arts & Culture: Initiatives that enrich lives, promote resident interactions, and foster community spirit.
- Basic Needs: Efforts to combat food insecurity, provide affordable housing, and remove barriers to transportation, childcare, and education.
- Education: Innovative educational programs for all ages.
- Economic Opportunity: Programs aimed at job creation, prosperity, and quality of life improvements.
- Environment: Solutions for a healthier, cleaner, and more sustainable Ohio.
Funding Details 💸
Grant Range: $2,500 to $20,000, distributed in three waves as funding is made available.
Project Completion: Preference for projects completed within 6 months, though a maximum of 12 months is allowed.

- Mid-December: Grants announced.

The Foundation does not fund:
- Non-secular activities or those promoting religious doctrines.
- Academic or medical research.
- Annual fundraising campaigns or events.
- Creation of or additions to endowment funds.
- Payment of debts or legal settlements.
- Political or partisan activities.
