Residents of Delaware County and beyond are invited to take part in an exciting community celebration at McCammon Creek Park. Preservation Parks of Delaware County is hosting a special ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, October 26, at 11:00 AM, to mark the opening of a new area of this expanding park. This event will take place at McCammon Creek Park – North Area, located on the Red Fox Trail at 3675 E. Orange Road in Lewis Center.
A Community Celebration in Nature
The event promises not only a ceremonial ribbon cutting but also an opportunity for visitors to explore this new addition to the park system. Following the official ceremony, participants can enjoy a guided hike or even drive to preview another yet-to-be-opened area of the park, known as the Bicentennial Barn Area. The Bicentennial Barn Area is accessible until 1:00 PM for this exclusive preview, allowing guests a first look at this scenic location before it fully opens to the public.
Parking is available in the new lot at McCammon Creek Park – North Area, with overflow parking at Orange Friends Church (3467 E. Orange Road). From there, visitors can take a paved trail to reach the park entrance.

McCammon Creek Park – North Area spans 54 acres of beautiful natural landscape, offering a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. The park is part of a larger 230-acre site that encompasses the Delaware County Bicentennial Barn, which is currently being transformed into a four-season event center—a future hub for community gatherings, events, and activities.
McCammon Creek Park features a network of trails that weave through its expansive grounds, with paths that connect to other local areas, providing ample opportunities for hiking and nature exploration. Attendees are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear, as some areas—including the Bicentennial Barn Area—feature uneven, unimproved surfaces and grass trails. The park is easily accessible from the multi-use trail along Orange Road, located between Orange Friends Church and Bale Kenyon Road, making it convenient for both local residents and those traveling from surrounding areas.
