After more than two decades of service and leadership, Trustee Connie M. Goodman has announced her resignation from the Genoa Township Board of Trustees, effective April 30. Her departure comes as she relocates outside of the township for personal and family reasons. Goodman’s legacy includes roles as a volunteer, advisor, BZA member, and Zoning Commission member—culminating in eight impactful years as Trustee.
“Genoa Township became enmeshed in my life,” Goodman shared. “I am grateful for the people this community has brought into my life—Genoa Township is brimming with remarkable residents and employees.”
How to Apply for the Open Trustee Seat
With Goodman’s departure, the Township has outlined a detailed and transparent process to appoint a new Trustee to serve the remainder of her term through the end of 2025. Qualified residents interested in applying must submit:
- A letter of interest and qualifications
- A completed Genoa Township employment application
- A resume
- A list of references
Applications can be submitted online, by email ([email protected]), or in person at the Township’s Administrative Offices at 5111 South Old 3C Highway, Westerville. All materials must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025. Applicants are advised to highlight relevant experience in budgeting, leadership, management, and community involvement, along with their availability to serve.
What Happens Next: A Transparent Selection Timeline
Following the May 2 deadline, Trustees Karl Antonetz and Renee Vaughan will begin reviewing applications, with a Special Meeting scheduled for May 8 at 9:00 AM to select potential candidates for interviews. Finalists will be contacted, background checks will begin, and interviews will take place in executive session on May 12 at 6:00 PM.
After interviews and any necessary follow-up meetings, Trustees will return to a public session to vote on an appointment. If the appointment cannot be finalized within 30 days of Goodman’s resignation, the matter will be referred to the Delaware County Probate Judge for resolution, as required by Ohio law.
