Updated with additional information

By: 1808Delaware Staff; Delaware County Transit

For the first time since April 11, Delaware County Transit (DCT) is making a change to its services and fares.

Last month, DCT suspended all fixed routes on the system, after previously closing the Green Route. Since then, Demand Response rides have been available for essential trips.

Effective on June 1, the following changes are being made:

  • Fares for all services will be re-established as of that date, with new, lower rates for Demand Response rides.
  • A new “FLEX” call-ahead service for the city of Delaware will begin that day. With this service, you can choose your pick-up and drop off point within the city from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The fare is $1 each way, with seniors 65 and older and children 18 and under at 50 cents.

The following will remain the same:

  • The Green Route suspension continues until July 3.
  • Routes in the city of Delaware remain suspended through the end of the year.
  • Nose and mouth coverings are still required and must be worn before entering the bus.
