ODOT District Six has released its weekly report highlighting road construction projects which are beginning or underway in the multi-county area it serves. What follows are posted projects taking place within Delaware County.
Please stay safe and pay attention to these closures and work taking place during the week beginning on July 26.
State Route 61
NEW IMPACTS
State Route 61 between Wildwood Lane and Monkey Hollow Rd. will close starting Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31 for culvert replacement. Detour: U.S. 36 to I-71 to SR 61 or reverse.
U.S. Route 36
U.S. Route 36 intersection safety – Add left turn lanes on U.S. 36 and restricted crossing U-turn intersections (RCUT) at U.S. 36/ Lackey Old State Rd. and at U.S. 36/North Old State Rd. RCUTs are also known as J-Turns. Estimated completion: July 2022
CONTINUING IMPACTS
U.S. 36 eastbound and westbound between Lackey Old State Rd. and North Old State Rd. will be restricted to one lane in each direction starting Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, August 23.
U.S. Route 23
U.S. Route 23 barrier repair – Repair the retaining wall and bridge deck overlay on the U.S. 23 northbound ramp to E. William St. Estimated completion: October.
NEW IMPACTS
The U.S. 23 northbound ramp to E. William St. will close nightly starting Monday, July 27 through Saturday, August 1. Detour: U.S. 23 northbound to SR 98 to U.S. 23 southbound to Central Ave. to William St.
CONTINUING IMPACTS
The U.S. 23 northbound ramp to E. William St. will continue to be restricted to one lane through October.
U.S. Route 42
CONTINUING IMPACTS
U.S. Route 42 emergency culvert replacement and road repair – U.S. 42 between the city of Delaware and Horseshoe Road is closed due to a sinkhole that developed after recent heavy rains. Estimated completion: Aug. 2020. Detour: SR 37 to U.S. 23 to SR 229 or reverse.
U.S. Route 42 intersection safety – Add left turn lanes on U.S. 42 at the intersections of SR 745/SR 257 and SR 257/Klondike Rd., resurface U.S. 42 from SR 745/SR 257 to SR 257/Klondike Rd., and upgrade guardrail. Estimated completion: September.

U.S. Route 42 between SR 745 and SR 257 will have overnight lane restrictions on Sunday, July 26.
State Route 257
NEW IMPACTS
State Route 257 resurfacing project – SR 257 between U.S. 42 and SR 750 will have daily lane restrictions starting Saturday, July 25 through Saturday, August 1 for pavement repairs.
State Route 745
CONTINUING IMPACTS
State Route 745 resurfacing project – SR 745 between Memorial Dr. and U.S. 42 will have daily lane restrictions through Saturday, August 1 for pavement repairs.
