The 2018 Annual Report of Main Street Delaware is all about the numbers.

The two page document, recently released by the organizations, focuses on the economic well-being and growth of the city’s traditional business district.

Included among those numbers are the following:

  • 16 new business opened in the downtown during 2018
  • Main Street Delaware partnered with 211 businesses, 72 non profits, 17 churches, and 9 school districts during the year
  • Paid and volunteer hours represented a personal time investment of $138,683 into the community

On the second page, a yearly calendar looks back at events and programs undertaken during the year.

Main Street Delaware is also gearing up for its March First Friday, this time themed “March for Art.”

Local businesses will act as art galleries and display artwork created by students from Delaware City Schools. During First Friday, the community is invited to stop by these “art galleries” and view the amazing artwork students have created.

Student artwork will be displayed at the five following locations on First Friday and through March 18:

  • Delaware Entrepreneurial Center at OWU — 70 S. Sandusky St.
  • COhatch — 18 E. William St.
  • The Strand Theater — 28 E. Winter St.
  • Central Ohio Symphony — 24 E. Winter St.
  • Pat’s Endangered Species — 11 W. Winter St.

The Ross Art Museum will host a reception on First Friday from 5 to 7pm for student artists and their families. Enjoy cookies and punch and get a chance to win art supplies in a raffle drawing.
