A plan for a drive-thru-only 7 Brew Drive-Thru Coffee stand on the east side of Delaware is a step closer to approval after earning a positive recommendation from the city’s Planning Commission this week. The proposal now heads to City Council, which will make the final call.

Planning Commission Action

At its meeting on December 3, the Planning Commission reviewed the application filed by Motley 7 Brew, LLC. The company is seeking approval for a development plan tied to case PC 25-15, a project connected to the broader commercial zoning work already underway along Sunbury Road. After going through access, layout, and zoning consistency, the commission voted to recommend approval.

A recommendation at this stage means the technical side of the project meets the city’s expectations. It doesn’t guarantee construction, but it clears a major checkpoint.

The plan covers a roughly one-acre vacant parcel at 1424 Sunbury Road. 7 Brew is proposing a 510-square-foot building designed solely for drive-thru service. The site sits within an established commercial corridor that continues to fill in with small-footprint, high-traffic businesses.

City Council’s Scheduled Review

Council is looking to set January 12, 2026, at 7:25 PM as the date and time for the public hearing and formal consideration of Resolution No. 25-90. That resolution would approve the Development Plan for construction of the 7 Brew drive-thru at 1424 Sunbury Road. The hearing will give residents a chance to weigh in before Council makes its final decision.

About 7 Brew

7 Brew began with a single stand in Rogers, Arkansas, built around a simple idea: quick service, customizable drinks, and a friendly experience in the drive-thru lane. The chain has since expanded nationally with a focus on hand-crafted beverages and high-volume drive-thru operations. If approved, the Delaware stand would bring the concept to Sunbury Road, where the company hopes to plug into a busy commuter corridor.

Looking Ahead

Should Council give the green light, the project would move into permitting and site preparation. Similar stands in other communities tend to move quickly once construction begins. For now, all attention turns to the January hearing, where the project’s future will be decided.
