It may be a piece of vacant ground now, but that’s soon to change.

It has been a whirlwind six years for pastors Kyle and Jess Hammond and the congregation of Adventure Church, currently located at 5542 Columbus Pike in Lewis Center. What started out in a conference center with 30 people in attendance in September of 2013 has grown and grown to the point where the church is, quite literally, bursting at the seams. And, for the second time in that short period, that means a new building.

Earlier this month, Adventure Church closed on the purchase of three parcels along Greif Parkway. The land was purchased for almost $1.16 million. Visible from US23, it is the planned site for a new church building.

The land was purchased from Greif Inc., whose headquarters is west of the parcels.

In a Facebook video announcing the plans, Kyle Hammond shared that his vision for the property was over three years in the making. That video can be viewed here.

The main website of Adventure Church can be seen here.
