This is the third in a series about Main Street Delaware posted in recognition of the organization’s 25th anniversary year.

Our first two posts, which can be found here and here, shared observations about the initial meeting that brought the Ohio Main Street Program to Delaware in 1999.

Main Street Delaware is spending the year celebrating that anniversary. In a social media post, the organization shared photos from their recent kickoff event. It was an opportunity to look back but also to look forward, as the evening also served as a launch for a new marketing identity for downtown Delaware.

The new identity is focused on the idea of “Just Next Door.” In explaining the significance of the phrase, the following was shared:

“What does this mean? Main Street Delaware is still Main Street Delaware, now our downtown just has a brand! This is something everyone can utilize, from the City to the County, nonprofit organizations, businesses, residents, visitors, and more! Main Street’s marketing committee has spent the last year working to come up with not just a tagline but an identity for our beautiful, vibrant, historic downtown. This brand represents more than just a name; it symbolizes the interconnectedness, camaraderie, and shared dreams that make our community truly special.

We want to attract tourism to our town and encourage neighboring towns to make Delaware a destination. We want everyone else to realize what we already know, that downtown Delaware is the best place to live, work, and play.

Help us bring Just Next Door to life—use #JustNextDoor to share your experiences, stories, and favorite spots in downtown Delaware. Let’s celebrate our community together!

Stay tuned for updates, events, and more celebrations during our 25 Year Anniversary. Let’s make every moment special, just steps away from home.”

1808Delaware salutes Main Street Delaware on its anniversary and on its new direction.
