First Fridays in downtown Delaware have become a local tradition. Hosted by Main Street Delaware, each is built around a theme and showcases the many stores and eateries in the city’s central business district.

In honor of February’s role as a reminder of several Presidential birthdays, this coming First Friday will launch a month-long Presidential Scavenger Hunt.

Here’s what’s on:

Beginning on February 3 and lasting for the remainder of the month, participants can search for President Rutherford B. Hayes – Delaware’s native son – in shops and restaurants. Doing so can earn a chance to win prizes and gift cards from Main Street Delaware and several downtown businesses.

To participate, pick up your passport at The Delaware Welcome Center on First Friday (6 PM to 8 PM) or print your own. Then find every Hayes around town and turn in your completed passport back at The Welcome Center. Winners will be drawn and contacted on March 1.

Uncover the hidden message, and find the LIVE Hayes on First Friday to double your chances of winning.
