Ohio EPA will hold a public hearing to discuss the Delaware County Engineer’s bridge reconstruction project over the Olentangy River and the addition of three lanes to Home Road.

An information session will begin at 6 PM on Thursday, October 17, at the Delaware County Public Library – Orange Branch, 7171 Gooding Boulevard, Delaware, immediately followed by a hearing to accept public comments on the permit application.

The proposed project, if approved, may result in a change from current water quality conditions of the Olentangy River, but cannot violate Ohio’s water quality standards that protect human health and the environment. One intermittent stream, three Category 1 wetlands, and two Category 2 wetlands also may be impacted. Ohio EPA will consider technical, economic, social, and environmental aspects of the project before deciding whether to issue or deny the permit.

Ohio EPA will accept written comments on the permit application through October 24. Anyone may submit comments or request to be on the mailing list for information. To comment or receive information on the permit applications, write to: Ohio EPA-DSW, Permits Processing Unit, P.O. Box 1049, Columbus, Ohio 43216-1049 or email [email protected].
