Have a son or daughter seeking summer work?

The City of Delaware is accepting applications for seasonal part-time job openings in multiple departments and locations. Some positions require applicants be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license, and other positions are available for those age 15 and up. Seasonals can earn as much as $15 per hour and work between 20-40 hours per week. These positions are great ways to get started building a resume while still in school.

The following are listed on the City website with the term “seasonal” included:

Seasonal Public Utilities Laborer

Under the general supervision of the Division Supervisor and immediate supervision of the lead crew member on a particular assignment assist with water and waste water seasonal projects. Seasonal laborers may be assigned to any division within the Public Utilities Department as a substitute for individuals on vacation, sick leave, etc., or during heavy work load periods.

Seasonal Parks & Cemetery Laborer

Under the general supervision of the Parks Superintendent, immediate supervision of the Division Supervisor or lead crew member on a particular assignment perform park and cemetery grounds and facilities care and maintenance activities. Seasonal laborers may be assigned to any division within the Public Service Group as a substitute for individuals on vacation, sick leave, etc., or during heavy work load periods.

Seasonal Hidden Valley Golf Course Laborer

Under the general supervision of the Parks Superintendent, immediate supervision of the Division Supervisor or lead crew member on a particular assignment perform golf course ground and facilities care and maintenance activities. Seasonal laborers may be assigned to any division within the Public Service Group as a substitute for individuals on vacation, sick leave, etc., or during heavy work load periods.

Seasonal Street & Traffic Maintenance Laborer

Under the general supervision of the Division Supervisor and under the immediate supervision of the lead crew member on a particular assignment assist in performing street and traffic maintenance and yard waste collection. Seasonal laborers may be assigned to any division within the Public Works Department as a substitute for individuals on vacation, sick leave, etc. or during heavy work load periods.
