Experience Columbus recently announced its new “Live Forward Live” podcast, available now at ExperienceColumbus.com/Podcast as well as major podcast streaming services iHeart radio (website and app), Apple Podcasts, Spreaker and Spotify.

The very first edition includes an in-depth look at what’s new at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, one of Delaware County’s busiest attractions.

Produced in partnership with iHeart Radio, this next iteration of the destination marketing organization’s Live Forward campaign goes behind the scenes with the organizations and businesses that make Columbus such a vibrant city to learn about some of the best-kept secrets of things to see and do….and meet the people who make it happen. Episodes are hosted by WCOL’s Boxer, who hosts The Boxer Show nationally, and WNCI’s Kelsey Webb, with other iHeart talent joining periodically. Each will explore the city’s undiscovered possibility with the help of guests, with the goal of inspiring residents and visitors alike to share and explore.

“iHeartRadio is thrilled to be adding Live Forward Live to the nation’s largest podcast network. Content like this is absolutely craved as people want to hear ‘behind-the-scenes’ perspectives from their favorite Columbus spaces on demand,” said Kris Foley, president, Central Ohio Region, iHeartMedia. “We’re proud to produce this collaboration with the forward-thinking team at Experience Columbus. I’ve had a chance to listen to the first episode and am already hooked! It’s great to live in such a vibrant city with such phenomenal stories to tell.”

The initial release includes four episodes:

  • From moving seals across the globe to bringing animals to you – hear what’s new at the Columbus Zoo with Vice President of Animal Programs Suzi Rapp and Executive Vice President of External Affairs Janelle Coleman
  • Indie-Pop artist Plaid Brixx – writer and producer of the Live Forward campaign anthem song, “Live For Today” – and Chriss Powell, founder of Stars Worldwide, share why they love the Columbus music scene
  • Dive into Columbus’ richly diverse business community with Jill Frost and Allison Harrison, leaders from local chambers of commerce – Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce (COACC) and Diversity Chamber of Central Ohio (DCCO) – respectively
  • Known for being in-the-know, local broadcaster and busy mom Mikaela Hunt talks her favorite places in Columbus and ideas for keeping kids entertained

“Columbus is a city that invites exploration, and we hope the information imparted on our new podcast encourages deeper connection with all there is to see, do and experience in our city,” said Sarah Townes, vice president of marketing at Experience Columbus. “Whether it’s residents finding ways to safely support community during COVID-19, or visitors slowly starting to travel again, let Live Forward Live serve as inspiration for your next trip to Columbus.”

Tune in regularly for inspirational stories of Columbus residents who embody what it means to live forward. Future episodes will be recorded in the newly minted Live Forward Live podcast studio, located inside Experience Columbus’ Arena District Visitor Center and cover topics such as food trucks, Ohio State University sports, LGBTQ life, global food, literature and more.
