Work continues on the region’s roadways. Below is information from the Ohio Department of Transportation for improvement and construction projects for Delaware and Franklin Counties during the coming week. As always, work is weather dependent.

DELAWARE

New Impacts

SR 229 Bridge Rehabilitation

  • SR 229 east of Weiser Rd. will close starting Monday, October 19 for 30 days.
    • Detour: U.S. 23 to SR 98 to SR 529 to SR 756 to U.S. 42 to SR 229 or reverse

SR 257 Culvert Replacement

  • SR 257 between Ostrander Rd. / Warrensburg Rd. and SR 37 will close starting 7 a.m. Monday, October 19 through 3 p.m. Friday, October 23.
    • Detours:
      • North side of closure: SR 257 northbound to SR 37 eastbound to Section Line Rd. southbound to SR 257 northbound.
      • South side of closure: SR 257 southbound to SR 36 eastbound to Section Line Rd. northbound to SR 257 southbound.

Continuing Impacts

SR 229 Resurfacing

  • SR 229 between U.S. 23 and the Village of Ashley will have various daytime lane restrictions (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) starting Monday, May 11 through Fall 2026.

I-71/U.S. 36/SR 37 Sunbury Parkway

  • The I-71 northbound ramp to U.S. 36/SR 37 will be reduced to one lane starting Wednesday, April 8 through Fall 2026.

U.S. 23 Spot Pavement Repairs

  • U.S 23 northbound between Hills Miller Rd and SR 229 will be reduced to one lane daily (7 p.m. – 3 p.m.) starting Monday, August 10th through Fall 2026
  • U.S 23 southbound between Hills Miller Rd and SR 229 will be reduced to one lane daily (7 p.m. – 3 p.m.) starting Monday, August 10th through Fall 2026

I-71/Main St. Interchange Improvements

  • The I-71 southbound ramp to Main St. will close starting 7 p.m. Friday, October 2 through 5 a.m. Monday, October 5.
    • Detour: I-670 eastbound to 3rd St. to Main St.
  • The I-71 southbound ramp to Main St. will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Monday, October 5 through Saturday, October 10.
    • Detour: I-670 eastbound to 3rd St. to Main St.
  • I-71 southbound between Town St. and Main St.will be reduced to two lanes overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Monday, October 5 through Saturday, October 10.
  • The I-71 southbound ramp to Main St. will close starting Sunday,

I-270/I-71 Interchange Improvements

  • The I-270 eastbound ramp to I-71 northbound on the north side will close overnight (11 p.m. – 8 a.m.) Friday, October 2
    • Detour: I-270 eastbound to Cleveland Ave. To I-270 westbound to I-71 northbound
  • The I-270 westbound ramp to I-71 northbound on the north side will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Sunday, October 4.
    • Detour: I-270 westbound to I-71 southbound to SR 161 to I-71 northbound.
  • The I-270 westbound ramp to I-71 northbound on the north side will close overnight (11 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Monday, October 5.
    • Detour: I-270 westbound to I-71 southbound to SR 161 to I-71 northbound.

I-270 Resurfacing

  • The I-270 southbound ramp to U.S. 33 westbound on the southeast sidewill close overnight (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Friday, October 2.
    • Detour: I-270 southbound to Alum Creek Dr. to I-270 northbound to U.S. 33 westbound
  • The I-270 southbound ramp to U.S. 33 eastbound on the southeast side will close overnight (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Friday, October 2.
    • Detour: I-270 southbound to Alum Creek Dr. to I-270 northbound to U.S. 33 eastbound
  • The U.S. 33 westbound ramp to I-270 southbound on the southeast sidewill close overnight (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Friday, October 2.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 westbound to I-270 northbound to I-70 westbound to I-270 southbound
  • The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to I-270 southbound on the southeast side will close overnight (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.), Friday, October 2.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 eastbound to I-270 northbound to I-70 westbound to I-270 southbound
  • I-270 southbound at the I-270 / U.S. 33 interchangeon the southeast sidewill be reduced to one lane overnight (7 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Friday, October 2.
  • I-270 southbound between I-70 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad Bridge on the southeast side will be reduced to one lane starting 8 p.m. Friday, October 2 through 5 a.m. Monday, October 5.

I-270/Easton Way Intersection Improvements

  • The I-270 southbound ramp to Easton Way will close overnight (11 p.m. – 8 a.m.) Friday, October 2.
    • Detour: I-270 southbound to SR 317 to I-270 northbound to Easton Way.
  • The I-270 southbound ramp to Easton Way will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Sunday, October 4.
    • Detour: I-270 southbound to SR 317 to I-270 northbound to Easton Way.
  • The I-270 northbound ramp to Easton Way will be reduced to one lane starting 7 p.m. Sunday, October 4 for 30 days
  • Easton Way westbound between I-270 and Stelzer Rd. will be reduced to one lane starting 7 p.m. Sunday, October 4 for 30 days
  • Easton Way eastbound between Stelzer Rd. and I-270 will be reduced to one lane starting 7 a.m. Saturday, October 10 through 5 p.m. Saturday, October 17.

U.S. 33 Bridge Work

  • The U.S. 33 westbound ramp to I-270 southbound on the northwest side will close starting 9 p.m. Friday, October 2 through 5 a.m. Monday, October 5.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 westbound to I-270 northbound to Sawmill Rd. to the I-270 southbound

Harrison Rd. Bridge Repairs

  • I-70 westbound between Harper Rd. and Fisher Rd. will be reduced to one lane starting 6 p.m. Friday, October 2 through 6 a.m. Monday, October 5.
  • I-70 westbound between Harper Rd. and Fisher Rd. will be reduced to one lane starting 6 p.m. Friday, October 9 through 6 a.m. Monday, October 12.

U.S. 33 / Bixby Rd. Left Turn Restrictions

  • U.S. 33 westbound at Bixby Rd.will be reduced to one lane overnight (7 p.m. – 8 a.m.) Friday, October 2 and Wednesday, October 7.
  • U.S. 33 eastbound at Bixby Rd.will be reduced to one lane overnight (9 p.m. – 8 a.m.) Friday, October 2 and Wednesday, October 7.

Continuing Impacts

Far East Freeway

  • Brice Rd. over I-70 will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Saturday, August 2, 2025. Two left turn lanes on Brice Rd. northbound to I-70 WB will be maintained.

U.S. 33/Petzinger Road Improvements

  • U.S. 33 westbound between I-70 and SR 104 will have various overnight lane restrictions (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) starting Monday, September 14 for 26 days
