The Friends of the Delaware County District Library are excited to welcome New York Times best-selling author Joyce Maynard for a special evening celebrating the release of her latest novel, How the Light Gets In. Join us on July 10, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the beautiful Dempsey Event Center for an event filled with literature, conversation, and healing.

Experience Chi Gong and Singing Bowls
The evening will commence in the Sanctuary space of the Dempsey Event Center with calming and invigorating demonstrations of Chi Gong and Singing Bowls by experts from the Dempsey Center. These practices are renowned for their therapeutic properties, offering attendees a unique opportunity to relax and rejuvenate.
An Engaging Conversation with Joyce Maynard
Joyce Maynard, known for her evocative writing on family, love, and loss, will discuss her new novel and share insights into her storied career. She will be in conversation with local writing legend Lee Martin, a distinguished professor at Ohio State University.
