Andrews House in Delaware has earned the Friends of WIC Award, thanks to the nomination from Lauren Robinson, the WIC director at the Delaware Public Health District (DPHD). Andrews House showed incredible generosity by hosting WIC workers and clients during the numerous delays at the DPHD building last summer. Their support ensured that vital WIC services remained uninterrupted, making a real difference in the community.

A Vital Resource for the Community

Making Fresh Produce Accessible

Andrews House is a key player in the Farmers Market SNAP/Produce Perks program. This initiative helps SNAP recipients stretch their benefits at the Main Street Delaware Farmers Market, providing incentive tokens to boost their purchasing power. It’s a win-win: supporting local farmers while making fresh, healthy food more accessible to everyone.

A Place of Hospitality and Healing

Andrews House isn’t just about food programs. It’s a place where the community comes together for hospitality, healing, and education. The center offers a range of programs to support individuals and families, making it a vital resource for those in need.

Event Space for the Community

Need a space for your next event? Andrews House has you covered. Their historic building can host up to 175 people for open-house events or 85 for classroom-style setups. It’s the perfect spot for community gatherings, workshops, and private functions.

It was at one of these events in 1999 that the Ohio Main Street Program came to Delaware for the first time, resulting in creation of Main Street Delaware.

A Historic Gem with a Heart of Gold

From Home to Help-Giving Center

Originally a private residence, Andrews House has transformed into a non-profit help-giving center. Its historic charm now serves as a backdrop for countless community activities, embodying the spirit of giving and support.

Supplying Free Lunches

Beginning June 5, Woodward Elementary School located at 200 S Washington St. will be offering a summer lunch program through Andrews House. Children can receive a free nutritious lunch between 11:30am and 12:30pm during the summer months.
