The Delaware County District Library’s Liberty Branch will be the site for a large book and media sale later this month that is being organized by the Friends of the Delaware County District Libraries.
More than 10,000 books, CDs, and DVDs will be available for purchase, all of which are in good condition and reasonably priced.
Paperback books are priced at $1, while hardback books are $2. For those who are interested in buying a bag full of books, the cost is $20, and for those who have a Friends bag from a previous sale, the cost is only $15.
The sale will take place on August 26 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, so be sure to stop by the library during those times to take advantage of the fantastic deals.
Shopping at a used book sale can be an enjoyable and cost-effective way to build your personal library. Here are some tips to help you navigate a used book sale and find the books you want:
- Know what you’re looking for: Before you start browsing, make a list of the books you’re interested in finding. This will help you stay focused and avoid getting overwhelmed.
- Bring cash: Many used book sales only accept cash, so be sure to bring enough money to cover your purchases.
- Bring a bag or cart: You never know what treasures you’ll find, so be prepared to carry them all. Bring a sturdy bag or cart to make it easier to transport your books.
- Check the condition: When you find a book you’re interested in, take a moment to inspect it. Check for any damage or markings, and make sure it’s the edition you want.
- Know the prices: Used book sales often offer books at discounted prices, but it’s still important to know the value of the books you’re interested in. Research the original retail price and compare it to the price at the sale.
- Be open-minded: Used book sales offer a wide variety of books, so don’t be afraid to explore outside of your usual interests. You may find something new and exciting.
- Take your time: Don’t rush through the sale. Take your time and browse at your own pace. You may find hidden gems that you would have missed if you had rushed through.
- Ask questions: If you have any questions about the books or the sale, don’t hesitate to ask the staff or volunteers. They’re there to help you find what you’re looking for.
By following these tips, you can make the most out of your used book sale shopping experience and find some great additions to your personal library.
