Special to 1808Delaware

On September 1, OhioHealth Grady Memorial Hospital associates participated in Main Street Delaware’s First Fridays event.

“The purpose of having a table at the event was to be more visible in the community, and an opportunity for Grady associates, who volunteered at the vendor table, to connect directly with and hear from community members,” OhioHealth Director of Community Relations, Debbie Donahey, said.

Main Street Delaware is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization and economic development organization that advocates for the downtown business district. First Fridays is from 6p.m. to 9p.m. and takes place on the first Friday of every month. Visitors can walk the shops on Main Street, eat at local restaurants, visit table stands set up and kids can enjoy free children’s activities.

September’s theme for the event was “back to school.” OhioHealth participated with volunteers in OhioHealth gear and an OhioHealth-branded tent, educational health materials, and OhioHealth-branded giveaways including OhioHealth sports cinch bags and hand sanitizers.

The table was made available with OhioHealth’s sponsorship of the Main Street Delaware Farmers’ Market.

“The Delaware community is a big family and we at Grady Memorial Hospital are grateful to be a part of the beautiful bond created throughout the years,” President of Grady Memorial Hospital and Dublin Methodist Hospital, Armin Rahmanian, said, “We value the relationships built between our doctors, associates and the people we serve, and we want to continue to deliver on our vision and promise of providing exceptional care for all through experiences that earn a lifetime of trust.”

Grady associates who attended this month’s event were Senior Director of Operations, Keeli Stith, Manager of Hospital Support and Hospital Finance, Steve Spain, Surgery Scheduler/ Billing Coordinate, Dorothy Spain, Administrative Nurse Manager, Angela Harvey, and Customer Experience Navigator, Amy Basinger.

Grady leadership plans to have more associates at the event once more in October and November. After this season of First Fridays, Grady will evaluate, and determine how to continue being involved.
