With the weather turning quickly into spring, crews are already back at work doing important updates on area roadways. As in years past, we will be providing weekly updates for projects in Delaware and Franklin Counties.

The following is scheduled to take place during this week according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

DELAWARE

New Impacts

U.S. 36/SR 37 ‘Point’ Improvements

  • SR 37 (Central Ave.) between U.S. 36 and U.S. 42 will close starting Monday, April 13 for 45 days.
    • Detour: U.S. 36 to U.S. 42 to SR 37 or reverse.

Continuing Impacts

I-71/U.S. 36/SR 37 Sunbury Parkway

  • The I-71 northbound ramp to U.S. 36/SR 37 will be reduced to one lane starting Wednesday, April 8 through Fall 2026.

State Route 315 Slip Repairs

  • SR 315 between SR 750 and U.S. 23 will close starting Monday, March 30 for 120 days.
    • Detour: U.S. 23 to SR 750 to SR 315 or reverse.

FRANKLIN

New Impacts

I-670 Bridge Rehabilitation

  • I-670 westbound between U.S. 33 and I-70 will be reduced to two lanes starting 10 p.m. Friday, April 10 for 10 days.
  • The Grandview Ave. ramp to I-670 westbound will close starting 9 p.m. Monday, April 13 for one week.
    • Detour: Grandview Ave. to U.S. 33 eastbound to I-670 westbound
  • McKinley Ave. between Harper Rd. and Harrison Rd. will close starting Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17
    • Detour: Fisher Rd. to Hague Ave. to Valleyview Dr. to Harper Rd. to McKinley Ave. or reverse. 

Cleveland Ave. Bridge Repairs

  • The I-71 southbound ramp to I-670 westbound will close starting 11 p.m. Friday, April 10 through 5 a.m. Monday, April 13.
    • Detour: I-71 southbound to I-670 eastbound to Leonard Ave. to I-670 westbound

I-70 Resurfacing

  • I-70 eastbound between 18th St. and James Rd. will have various lane restrictions (7 p.m. — noon) Friday, April 10 and Sunday, April 12.
  • The I-70 eastbound to Mooberry St. eastbound will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Friday, April 10.
    • Detour: I-70 eastbound to Alum Creek Dr. to E Main St. to Miller/Kelton Ave. to Mooberry St.
  • The Mooberry St. eastbound ramp to I-70 eastbound will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Friday, April 10.
    • Detour: Mooberry St. to Seymour Ave. to Livingston Ave. to Alum Creek Dr. to I-70 eastbound
  • The I-70 eastbound ramp to Alum Creek Dr. northbound will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Friday, April 10 and Sunday, April 12.
    • Detour: I-70 eastbound to James Rd. to I-70 westbound to Livinsgston Ave. to Alum Creek Dr.
  • The E. Fulton St. ramp to I-70 will close overnight (9 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Friday, April 10.
    • Detour: S Grant Ave. to E Livingston Ave. to Alum Creek Dr. to I-70 eastbound
  • The I-71 southbound ramp to I-70 eastbound will close overnight (11 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Friday, April 10.
    • Detour: I-71 southbound to I-70 westbound to I-71 southbound to SR 104 to I-71 northbound to I-70 eastbound
  • Parsons Ave. northbound betwen Mooberry St. and Main St. will have various daytime lane restrictions (7 a.m. — 5 p.m.) Saturday, April 11.
  • Main St. from S Washington Ave. to Parsons Ave. will have various daytime lane restrictions (7 a.m. — 5 p.m.) Saturday, April 11.
  • The Main St. eastbound ramp to I-71 northbound will close from 7 a.m. — 5 p.m. Saturday, April 11.
    • Detour: Main St. eastbound to 18th St. to Mooberry St. to Parsons Ave. to I-71 northbound
  • I-70 westbound between 18th St. and James Rd. will have various overnight lane restrictions (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Monday, April 13 through Thursay, April 16.
  • The I-70 westbound ramp to James Rd. northbound will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14.
    • Detour: I-70 westbound to Livingston Ave. to Alum Creek Dr. to I-70 eastbound to James rd.
  • The I-70 westbound ramp to James Rd. southbound will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14.
    • Detour: I-70 westbound to Livingston Ave. to Alum Creek Dr. to I-70 eastbound to James Rd.
  • The James Rd. ramp to I-70 westbound will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Monday, April 13 through Wednesday, April 15.
    • Detour: James Rd. to I-70 eastbound to Hamilton Rd. to I-70 westbound
  • The I-70 westbound ramp to U.S. 33 will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16.
    • Detour: I-70 westbound to Cole St. to Miller Ave. to Livingston Ave. to U.S. 33
  • The U.S. 33 ramp to I-70 westbound will close overnight (9 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 westbound to Livingston Ave. to I-70 westbound
  • The Alum Creek Dr. southbound ramp to I-70 westbound will close overnight (9 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16.
    • Detour: Alum Creek Dr. to Livingston Ave. to I-70 westbound
  • The I-70 westbound ramp to Cole St. westbound will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Thursday, April 16.
    • Detour: I-70 westbound to Livingston Ave. to Kelton Ave. to Cole St.
  • The Cole St. westbound ramp to I-70 westbound will close overnight (7 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Thursday, April 16.
    • Detour: Cole St. to Miller Ave. to I-70 eastbound to Alum Creek Dr. to Livingston Ave to I-70 westbound

Far East Freeway

  • Tussing Road at Brice Road will close starting Friday, April 10 at 10 p.m. through Monday, April 13 at 5 a.m. for drainage installation.
    • Brice Rd. NB detour: Brice Rd. NB to E Livingston Ave. to SR 256 to Tussing Rd.
    • Brice Rd. SB detour: Brice Rd. SB to Gender Rd. to Refugee Rd. to SR 256 to Tussing Rd.
    • Tussing Rd. WB detour: Tussing Rd. to Hines Rd. to Refugee Rd. to Gender Rd. to Brice Rd. 

I-270/I-71 Interchange Improvements

  • The I-71 northbound ramp to I-270 westbound on the north side will close starting 11 p.m. Friday, April 17 through 5 a.m. Monday, April 20.
    • Detour: I-71 northbound to I-270 eastbound to Cleveland Ave. to I-270 westbound

Continuing Impacts

I-70 Pavement Reconstruction

  • The Hilliard Rome Rd. ramp to I-70 westbound will clsoe starting Monday, April 6 for 60 days.
    • Detour: Hilliard Rome Rd. to U.S. 40 westbound to SR 142 to I-70 westbound

E. Broad St. at S. Hamilton Rd. Intersection Improvements

  • Hamilton Rd. southbound between Broad St. and Fairway Blvd. will be reduced to one lane starting Thursday, April 2 through June 2026.

I-270 Resurfacing

  • The I-270 northbound ramp to U.S. 33 westbound will close starting Monday, March 23 for 30 days.
    • Detour: I-270 northbound to I-70 westbound to I-270 southbound to U.S. 33 westbound
  • The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close starting Monday, March 23 for 90 days.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 eastbound to Hamilton Rd. to U.S. 33 westbound to I-270 northbound.
  • I-270 northbound at U.S. 33 will be reduced to two lanes starting Monday, March 23 for 30 days.

I-70 Pavement Reconstruction

  • I-70 westbound traffic will be shifted to the eastbound side of the roadway starting overnight Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction through Fall 2026.

Far East Freeway

  • Brice Rd. over I-70 will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Saturday, August 2, 2025. Two left turn lanes on Brice Rd. northbound to I-70 WB will be maintained.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed, and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone. Remember, move over or slow down.
