Spring is here, and crews are already back at work doing important updates on area roadways. As in years past, we will be providing weekly updates for projects in Delaware and Franklin Counties.
The following is scheduled to take place during this week according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
DELAWARE
New Impacts
I-71/U.S. 36/SR 37 Sunbury Parkway
- I-71 southbound between U.S. 36/SR 37 and Polaris Parkway will close overnight (11 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1 for bridge beam setting.
- Detour: U.S. 36/SR 37 to SR 3 to Polaris Parkway to I-71 southbound
Continuing Impacts
U.S. 36/SR 37 ‘Point’ Improvements
- SR 37 (Central Ave.) between U.S. 36 and U.S. 42 will close starting Monday, April 13 for 45 days.
- Detour: U.S. 36 to U.S. 42 to SR 37 or reverse.
I-71/U.S. 36/SR 37 Sunbury Parkway
- The I-71 northbound ramp to U.S. 36/SR 37 will be reduced to one lane starting Wednesday, April 8 through Fall 2026.
- I-71 northbound between Polaris Pkwy. and U.S. 36/SR 37 will close overnight (11 p.m. — 5 a.m.) Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24 for bridge beam setting.
- Detour: Polaris Parkway to SR 3 to U.S. 36/SR 37 to I-71 northbound
State Route 315 Slip Repairs
- SR 315 between SR 750 and U.S. 23 will close starting Monday, March 30 for 120 days.
- Detour: U.S. 23 to SR 750 to SR 315 or reverse.
FRANKLIN
New Impacts
I-71 Maintenance Work
- The I-71 southbound ramp to Sinclair Rd. will close overnight (1 a.m. – 3 a.m.) Thursday, April 23.
- Detour: I-71 southbound to Cooke Rd. to I-71 northbound to Morse Rd. to Sinclair Rd.
- The Sinclair Rd. ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (1 a.m. – 3 a.m.) Thursday, April 23.
- Detour: Sinclair Rd. to SR 161 to I-71 southbound
- I-71 southbound at Sinclair Rd. will have various overnight lane restrictions (1 a.m. — 3 a.m.) Thursday, April 23 for maintenance.
I-270 Resurfacing and Bridge Rehabilitation
- Starting Friday, April 24, the left lane of I-270 southbound at U.S. 33 will shift into a contraflow pattern. One lane of I-270 southbound and two lanes of I-270 northbound will be maintained in the existing northbound lanes. Two lanes of I-270 southbound will be maintained on the southbound side of the roadway, and the outside lane will be exit only to U.S. 33 eastbound. This traffic pattern will remain in place for 30 days.
- The U.S. 33 westbound ramp to I-270 southbound will close starting Wednesday, April 22 for 30 days.
- Detour: U.S. 33 westbound to SR 104 to U.S. 33 eastbound to I-270 southbound
- The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close starting Wednesday, April 22 for 30 days.
- Detour: U.S. 33 eastbound to Hamilton Rd. to U.S. 33 westbound to I-270 northbound
Far East Freeway
- Tussing Rd. eastbound at Brice Rd. will close starting 8 p.m. Friday, April 24 through 5 a.m. Sunday, April 26 for drainage work.
- Detour for Brice Rd. NB to Tussing EB: Brice Road northbound detour: Brice Rd. northbound to E Livingston Ave. eastbound to SR 256 to Tussing Rd.
- Detour for Brice Rd. SB to Tussing EB: Brice Rd. southbound to Gender Rd. southbound to Refugee Rd. eastbound to SR 256 to Tussing Rd.
- Brice Rd. between Chantry Dr. and I-70 will have various lane restrictions starting 8 p.m. Friday, April 24 through 5 a.m. Sunday, April 26.
I-270 Bridge Rehabilitation
- The Hamilton Rd. northbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday, April 25.
- Detour: Hamilton Rd. northbound to U.S. 62 to I-270 northbound
I-670 Bridge Rehabilitation
- I-670 eastbound between U.S. 33 and I-70 will be reduced to two lanes starting Saturday, April 25 for 12 days.
- The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to I-670 eastbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1.
- Detour: U.S. 33 to Grandview Ave. to I-670 eastbound
- McKinley Ave. between Harper Rd. and Harrison Rd. will close starting Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1.
- Detour: Fisher Rd. to Hague Ave. to Valleyview Dr. to Harper Rd. to McKinley Ave. or reverse.
I-70 Resurfacing
- Parsons Ave. northbound between Mooberry St. and Main St. will have various daytime lane restrictions (7 a.m. — 5 p.m.) Saturday, April 25
- Main St. eastbound between Washington Ave. and Parsons Ave. will have various daytime lane restrictions (7 a.m. — 5 p.m.) Saturday, April 25
- The Main St. eastbound ramp to I-71 northbound will close from 7 a.m. — 5 p.m. Saturday, April 25
- Detour: Main St. eastbound to 18th St. to Mooberry St. to Parsons Ave. to I-71 northbound
- I-70 westbound between Ohio Ave. and James Rd. will have various overnight lane restrictions (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Monday, April 27 through Thursday, April 30.
- The U.S. 33 ramp to I-70 westbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28.
- Detour: U.S. 33 westbound to Livingston Ave. to I-70 westbound
- The Alum Creek Dr. southbound ramp to I-70 westbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28.
- Detour: Alum Creek Dr. to Livingston Ave. to I-70 westbound
- I-70 eastbound between Ohio Ave. and James Rd. will have various lane restrictions (7 p.m. – noon) Wednesday, April 29 and Thursday, April 30.
Cleveland Ave. Bridge Repairs
- The I-71 southbound ramp to I-670 westbound will close starting 10 p.m. Friday, May 1 through 5:30 a.m. Monday, May 4.
- Detour: I-71 southbound to I-670 eastbound to Leonard Ave. to I-670 westbound.
Continuing Impacts
E. Broad St. at S. Hamilton Rd. Intersection Improvements
- Hamilton Rd. southbound between Broad St. and Fairway Blvd. will be reduced to one lane starting Thursday, April 2 through June 2026.
I-70 Pavement Reconstruction
- I-70 westbound traffic will be shifted to the eastbound side of the roadway starting overnight Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction through Fall 2026.
- The Hilliard Rome Rd. ramp to I-70 westbound will clsoe starting Monday, April 6 for 60 days.
- Detour: Hilliard Rome Rd. to U.S. 40 westbound to SR 142 to I-70 westbound
Far East Freeway
Brice Rd. over I-70 will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Saturday, August 2, 2025. Two left turn lanes on Brice Rd. northbound to I-70 WB will be maintained.
