1808Delaware provides regular weekend reports on road project work being conducted under the auspices of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) in Delaware and Franklin Counties.
Such work is, of course, weather dependent. This past week, ODOT District 6 shared announcements of current and upcoming work in the two county area.
DELAWARE
State Route 605
UPCOMING NEW IMPACTS
- The intersection of SR 605 and Fancher Rd. will close starting Monday, April 22 for 40 days for roundabout construction.
- SR 605 detour: SR 605 to SR 37 to U.S. 62 to SR 605 or reverse.
- Fancher Rd. detour: Fancher Rd. to Schleppi Rd. to Walnut St. to Hoover Rd. or reverse.
U.S. Route 36/State Route 37
CONTINUING IMPACTS
- North Galena Rd. at U.S. 36/SR 37 will close starting Tuesday, March 5th for 100 days for intersection improvements.
- Detour: Wilson Rd. to U.S. 36/SR 37
- U.S. 36/SR 37 at I-71: Starting March 4 there will be a new traffic pattern in place on U.S. 36/SR 37 at the I-71 interchange for reconstruction of the bridge over I-71.
- Left turns from U.S. 36/SR 37 to the I-71 on-ramps are restricted
- Temporary RCUT lanes will be in use at Wilson Road and in front of McDonald’s for U.S. 36 traffic seeking access to the I-71 on-ramps
- U.S. 36 Westbound will be reduced to two lanes
- U.S. 36 Eastbound will be reduced to one lane
- Turning movements for traffic on the I-71 off-ramps will be maintained
- U.S. 36/SR 37 is reduced to one lane in each direction between the railroad bridge and Sky View Lane/Glenview Commons. Eastbound traffic will be shifted north, with both directions of traffic maintained in the existing westbound lanes. This traffic pattern will remain in place through Spring 2024.
- Access to driveways and property will be maintained, however left turns will be restricted for driveways as well as Bowtown Road traffic during peak travel times (7 AM – 9 AM, 4 PM – 6 PM). Left turns at SR 521 will be maintained throughout the phase.
FRANKLIN
Interstate 270
NEW IMPACTS
- The I-270 southbound ramp to SR 161 eastbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 8 a.m.) Saturday, April 13.
- Detour: I-270 southbound to SR 317 to I-270 northbound to SR 161.
- The I-270 southbound ramp to SR 161 westbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 8 a.m.) Saturday, April 13.
- Detour: I-270 southbound to SR 317 to I-270 northbound to SR 161.
- The Sunbury Rd. ramp to I-270 northbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Sunday, April 14.
- Detour: SR 161 eastbound to Little Turtle Way to I-270.
- The Sunbury Rd. ramp to I-270 southbound will close overnight (8 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Sunday, April 14.
- Detour: SR 161 eastbound to Little Turtle Way to I-270.
State Route 161
NEW IMPACTS
- Hamilton Rd. in both directions at SR 161 will close overnight (11 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Friday, April 12.
- Detour: Hamilton Rd. to SR 161 westbound to Sunbury Rd. to SR 161 eastbound or reverse.
- Hamilton Rd.northbound at SR 161 will close overnight (11 p.m. – 6 a.m.) Saturday, April 13.
- Detour: Hamilton Rd. to SR 161 westbound to Sunbury Rd. to SR 161 eastbound or reverse.
- The Sunbury Rd. ramp to SR 161 eastbound will close overnight (7 p.m. – 8 a.m.) Saturday, April 13.
- Detour: Sunbury Rd. to I-270 northbound to SR 3 to I-270 southbound to SR 161 eastbound
- SR 161 eastbound at Sunbury Rd. will close overnight (9 p.m. – 8a.m.) Saturday, April 13.
- Detour: Little Turtle Way to E. Dublin Granville Rd. to Hamilton Rd. to SR 161 eastbound.
- The SR 161 westbound ramp to I-270 southbound will close overnight (9 p.m. – 1 a.m.) Sunday, April 14.
- Detour: SR 161 westbound to I-270 northbound to SR 3 to Westerville Rd. to I-270 southbound.
- The SR 161 westbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close overnight (1 a.m. – 5 a.m.) Sunday, April 14 and Monday, April 15.
- Detour: SR 161 westbound to I-270 southbound to SR 317 to I-270 northbound.
