A new online dashboard from the Delaware Public Health District is giving residents a detailed look at the infectious diseases being reported across Delaware County. The dashboard, which is updated monthly, tracks dozens of reportable illnesses ranging from foodborne infections and respiratory diseases to hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections and illnesses spread by animals or insects.
The latest figures show 69 reported cases across the dashboard’s infectious disease categories in June 2026, compared with 68 during the previous reporting period.
Under Ohio law, certain diseases and medical conditions must be reported to local health departments. Once a report is received, Delaware Public Health District staff members work to confirm that the patient is receiving care, investigate how the illness may have been contracted and determine whether others could be at risk. Those investigations are intended both to protect individual patients and to limit the potential spread of disease within the wider community.
What The June Numbers Show
- Chlamydia remained the most frequently reported infection during June, with 29 cases. That was slightly below the 30 cases recorded during the previous period.
- Four gonococcal infections were reported, down from five, while no cases of syphilis were recorded.
- Among enteric illnesses, which commonly affect the intestinal system, six cases of salmonellosis were reported. That represented an increase from two during the prior period.
- Five cases of campylobacteriosis were recorded, along with three cases of E. coli infection, two cases of cryptosporidiosis and one case of giardiasis.
- The dashboard also recorded five cases of hepatitis B and two cases of hepatitis C. No cases of hepatitis A or hepatitis E were reported during June.

Tuberculosis And Other Diseases
Three tuberculosis cases were reported in June, compared with none during the prior period. No hospitalizations associated with COVID-19, influenza or respiratory syncytial virus were recorded. The dashboard also showed no reported cases of legionellosis or Haemophilus influenzae.
One case of Candida auris was reported. The fungal infection has drawn increased attention from public health agencies because it can spread in health care settings and may be resistant to commonly used antifungal medications. One case involving a carbapenemase-producing organism was also reported, down from four during the previous period.
Animal And Insect-Related Illnesses
Lyme disease accounted for all four zoonotic disease cases listed for June, matching the previous reporting period. No cases were reported for anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, dengue, La Crosse virus disease, malaria or Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
The dashboard also showed no cases of mumps, pertussis, meningitis, chickenpox or several other vaccine-preventable illnesses during June. One streptococcal case and one case of Streptococcus pneumoniae were reported.
Understanding The Dashboard
Users can select the plus sign beside each disease to view additional information, including a graph showing activity during the previous 14 months. Individual sections also include tabs explaining the circumstances behind recent trends and the strategies being used by the health district to respond.
The figures represent when cases were reported, not necessarily when an illness began or ended. Someone may remain ill or infectious beyond the month in which the case appears on the dashboard.
Counts include cases meeting standardized surveillance classifications established by the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists. The dashboard is updated by the 15th of each month.
