Gallant Woods Park: A Gem of Delaware County

Speaking of Gallant Woods Park, the park at 2151 Buttermilk Hill Road in Delaware isn’t just a venue; it’s a piece of local history and natural beauty.

The Gallant Woods Preserve was brought to life due to the kindness of two Delaware County citizens. Charlotte Gallant generously donated 83 acres of woods, while an anonymous donor provided funds for an additional 101 adjoining acres. With the Park District purchasing a further 47 acres, the total area stretches to a magnificent 231 acres.

Opened to the public in 2005, Gallant Woods Park offers a blend of old growth woods, meadows, restored prairies, wetlands, and wetland woods. It’s a place where nature and culture intersect, providing a backdrop that’s as pleasing to the eye as the music is to the ears.

Come and experience a blend of melodies, flavors, and natural beauty. The park awaits!
