Officials of the Ohio State Fair have unveiled the 2023 Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board, consisting of 20 young individuals from 12 different counties in Ohio. These board members have been selected to represent the thousands of youth participating in organizations such as 4-H, Boy Scouts, Farm Bureau, FFA, Girl Scouts, and Tech Ed across the state. Earning a spot on the JFB signifies their exceptional commitment to serving their organizations and communities.

Two of those youth selected are from Delaware County.

During the fair, which takes place from July 26 to August 6, JFB members can be easily identified by their blue polos as they assist in a variety of activities. Their responsibilities include supporting the monster mural near the Lausche Youth Exploration Space, assisting with youth fishing at Natural Resources Park, greeting visitors at the Main Street and Gazebo Stages, guiding attendees to their seats at the WCOL Celeste Center, offering customer service support, and much more.

Besides their assigned tasks, JFB members will have the chance to network with professionals from around Ohio, learning about potential career opportunities within the state. They will also present to the Ohio Expositions Commission on the significance of the junior fair.

The 2023 Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board is made up of 20 individuals aged 16 to 20 from various parts of Ohio. Among them, 12 are returning members who served on the board in 2022.

Those chosen include Delaware Countians:

  • Zak Beaver, 4-H, First Year
  • Marissa Johnston, Girl Scouts, Second Year
