This event is not for the faint-hearted; it offers a more challenging route that includes ravine navigation, stream crossings, and potentially muddy trails. Hikers will meet at the Howard Road Boat Ramp, ready to delve into the park’s northern section’s natural beauty. With the crisp winter air as your companion, this hike promises an invigorating journey through Alum Creek’s picturesque landscapes.

Nature Center Feed and Greet: Meet the Locals

On Saturday, February 24 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the Nature Center Feed and Greet event invites visitors to a close encounter with the park’s resident animals. This intimate gathering is an excellent opportunity for participants to learn about the care and habitats of these local inhabitants while assisting in their feeding routine. The event takes place behind the camp store, offering a unique educational experience for attendees of all ages.

Kids: Signs of Spring

Later the same day, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the park encourages its younger visitors to welcome the approaching spring season with the “Kids: Signs of Spring” event. This educational walk around the campground is designed to teach children about the earliest indicators of spring.
