Special to 1808Delaware

Yard waste collection resumes for the season the week of April 10 and will be picked up at curbside on your normal weekly collection day. Yard waste must be in biodegradable lawn/leaf bags, a 32-gallon yard waste container or in bundles no longer than 4 feet and 18 inches in diameter.

Contact 740-203-1810 or email Public Works customer service with your yard waste questions.

Yard waste includes lawn trimmings, leaves, vines, brush, and garden waste. Yard waste does not include non-biodegradable material.

Loose yard waste must be placed in biodegradable bags or 32-gallon containers with handles, marked for “Yard Waste” disposal. Stickers to designate cans for yard waste are free of charge at the City Utility Office in City Hall or by contacting the Customer Service Request Line at 740-203-1810 or by email. Biodegradable leaf bags may be purchased at most grocery or hardware stores.

Sod is accepted provided the bag or container and contents do not exceed 50 pounds.

Never pile leaves in the street, curb lawn or gutter.
