Big Possibilities Begin With A Visit To OWU

Ohio Wesleyan University is giving prospective students and their families four opportunities to take a closer look at college life before the end of 2026. The university’s fall open houses will be held August 29, September 25, October 17, and November 7. Each program will run from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on OWU’s campus in Delaware.

The visit days are designed to offer more than a traditional campus tour. Students will be able to explore academic programs, meet professors and current students, learn about campus opportunities, and experience the surrounding downtown community.

A Different Experience With Each Visit

The first event, scheduled for Saturday, August 29, will provide an inside look at OWU shortly after the beginning of the fall semester. Prospective students can explore academic interests, connect with members of the university community, and see how campus life is taking shape for the new academic year.

The Friday, September 25, open house will bring visitors directly into the academic experience. Guests will have the opportunity to attend actual classes, meet faculty members and students, and visit academic showcases across campus.

On Saturday, October 17, the focus will expand to include the energy of a fall weekend at OWU. Along with academic and campus activities, visitors may attend home football and men’s soccer games.

The final open house of the year will take place Saturday, November 7. The program will combine academic and student-life information with the atmosphere of another home football weekend.

A Visit Could Be Worth $4,000

For high school students, attending an open house may carry a substantial financial benefit. Any student who visits Ohio Wesleyan during the junior year of high school or before December 15 of the senior year is eligible to receive OWU’s Visit Award. The award provides $1,000 annually for up to four years, for a potential total of $4,000. The Visit Award is provided in addition to any merit-based scholarships a student receives after admission.

Campus And Community

OWU also encourages visiting families to spend time beyond the campus boundaries. Downtown Delaware’s restaurants, shops, and historic streets are within easy reach, allowing students to experience both the university and the community they could eventually call home.
