Summer just got easier at Adventure Park in Powell. Nearly 100 new parking spaces have been added to the popular recreation destination, located at 260 Adventure Park Drive—right next to the Powell Pool. The expansion, completed just in time for peak park season, means more families can enjoy the park without the stress of searching for a spot.

But the improvements go beyond pavement. The project also includes new fencing, landscaping, and enhanced connections to Powell’s extensive shared-use path system. New street lighting will be completed in the coming weeks, boosting both safety and nighttime visibility.

Perhaps best of all, the City of Powell leveraged a state grant to fund approximately 75% of the $650,000 project—a win for taxpayers and the community alike.

Where Wheels, Water, and Walks Meet

Adventure Park lives up to its name with something for everyone. Skaters flock to its 15,000-square-foot concrete skatepark built by the renowned Team Pain. The layout includes a deep kidney-style bowl, a flowing pump track, and a dynamic street section filled with ledges, rails, and transitions.

Just steps away, the Powell Pool (Olentangy Swim Association) welcomes swimmers with a 165-foot water slide, diving boards, a zero-entry area for young children, and shaded gazebos for sun-wary parents. With bike path access and a prime location, it’s a summer staple for local families.

Programs, Play, and a Place to Gather

The City of Powell keeps the energy going with year-round recreation programming at Adventure Park. From youth robotics to crafting to adult fitness, the park offers more than just outdoor fun. Basketball courts, open fields, and nearby trails round out the options for visitors of all ages.

Need a place for a birthday party or family reunion? Park shelters and gazebos can be reserved online, offering a convenient setting near the park’s many attractions.

Connecting Community and Nature

Adventure Park isn’t just a destination—it’s a hub in Powell’s growing network of bike trails and outdoor amenities. Its accessible design and connections to downtown Powell, the local library, and nearby Village Green Park (featuring a splash pad) make it an essential part of the city’s active lifestyle.

With new parking, upgraded access, and continued investment, Adventure Park continues to be a place where Powell plays, relaxes, and comes together.
