The City of Powell is really giving its DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area) initiative a real opportunity to succeed.

Powell City Council has approved the extension of the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) program through the remainder of the year during the last Operations Committee meeting. The DORA will be held from 4-10 PM Fridays and 11 a.m.-10 PM Saturdays and Sundays through Sunday, December 27.

As we shared back in October, the DORA allows licensed liquor establishments in the designated area to sell alcohol at special times that can be carried out of their establishments in specially marked cups. Powell’s DORA boundary is approximately 136 acres and includes an area running north/south from Ill Mannered Brewing Co. on Grace Drive to the southernmost part of Village Green Park, and east/west from Beech Ridge Drive to Monte Carlo.

During the DORA, it’s important to be mindful of social distancing, which benefits businesses and allows for them to stay open and provide for the public in the safest manner possible. Check out business hours and safety protocols in advance.
