The air is getting cooler, leaves are turning golden, and in Powell, there’s an exciting event that promises to capture the magic of the season for both young and old: Family Friendly Fall and Spooky Tales, hosted by the Storytellers of Central Ohio. Scheduled for Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:10 PM, this live storytelling event will be held at the East Room, located at 47 Hall Street, Powell, Ohio, 43065.

This event is ideal for families eager to soak in the autumn spirit through engaging, seasonal stories that range from whimsical to delightfully spooky.

An Evening of Whimsy and Light Spookiness

The event is split into two parts to cater to different age groups and levels of “spookiness.” From 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM, the first half of the event is designed with younger children in mind. Children aged 4 to 6 years old will be treated to a gentle selection of fall-themed stories, ensuring an enjoyable experience that won’t be too scary for little ones. Parents can expect heartwarming tales full of seasonal magic that spark the imagination without the frights.

Thrills and Chills for the Older Kids

The second half, running from 6:40 PM to 7:10 PM, is for the slightly older crowd, those 7 years old and up. Here, the stories get a bit more thrilling, filled with surprising twists and spooky fun to keep older children—and even adults—entertained. It’s a perfect balance of lighthearted frights and mysterious tales, ideal for embracing the Halloween season.

Storytelling That Brings Families Together

This event is much more than just a gathering of stories. It’s a chance for families to connect through the tradition of live storytelling, a powerful medium that fuels the imagination and brings communities together. With a $5 recommended donation per family at the door, it’s also an affordable way for families to spend time together while supporting local storytellers.

How to Participate

To ensure a spot at this unique seasonal event, pre-registration is highly encouraged. Those interested can head over to the Powell Parks & Rec website at Powell.RecDesk.com for more details and to sign up.

Whether you’re looking for an enchanting night out with the family or want to give your kids a safe and fun introduction to light spookiness, Family Friendly Fall and Spooky Tales is the place to be. Mark your calendars for October 20 and prepare for an evening of fun, laughs, and a few delightful chills!
