For many Ohio cities, the start of the year can include the opportunity for city councils to hear reports on various topics. Such is the case on Tuesday for Powell City Council, which will hear presentations from two outside organizations with substantial involvement in the city.

The Central Ohio 2020-2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan will be reviewed by Melissa Sharp of the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission. That Plan was discussed in a June 2019 on 1808Delaware which can be read here, at which times comments were being sought on its contents.

Council will also hear a presentation by Sheila Hiddleson with the Delaware General Health District. The District is in the midst of development and executing building plans for a new headquarters facility.

During the meeting, Powell City Council will also consider an amendment to its adopted 2020 appropriations. Also on the agenda is an executive session related to the hiring of a new City Manager; an ordinance to make that hire is on the agenda after Council returns to open session.
